For those thinking about trailers...

I ran across this site today that is dedicated to just trailers for motorcycles. While I know you can get a lot of information here on KawaNOW... I thought maybe an additional resource might be helpful.

They have a lot of information; and related links that might be helpful to those thinking about getting, or building a trailer for their bike.

Information about wiring; tires; repairing; riding with a trailer, trailer manufacturers, and etc.

They do require you to join (for free) to get access to the information; but it appears to be a safe site.

Anyway... I thought is was kind of interesting; and hope it is helpful to someone.

A particular trailer I am somewhat interested in is this one: http://www.eaglematetrailers.com/e_intro2.htm

Those EagleMate trailers are pretty slick. Great idea!

Ha! I know what you mean; but I was thinking more of the stability of it compared to the drifting that a two-wheeled trailer sometimes causes.

Also... you can put a golf-club hard-case on it for protection from the weather.

Those Eaglemates are neat if you just need to carry a bit more gear sometimes.

Not too bad. Less pricy than these: http://www.uni-go-trailers.com/ , but the same concept. Easier cornering, less footprint in the wind. Using their luggage would make it rain proof also.

No, I really don't like that trailer set up.
http://www.eaglematetrailers.com

Maybe they know something I don't know, but I have my doubts...

Maybe you can set up the loads to be on the rear tire and maybe you can't.

The angle IMO is totally wrong to follow. The center of graviety is way too high.

I could go on a rant, but I won't, unless someone insists...

If that gets out of hand it will be a real big problem.

Mac;

I know what you mean; however the angle of that trailer allows you to put most of the weight on the trailer's tire -- not on the bike. The trailer weighs only 80 lbs, and can hold up to 200 lbs of weight on it. So at best with a fully loaded trailer -- you are putting no more weight onto the back of the bike than you would with a fully packed trunk.

Since most of the weight of the trailer rests onto the tire -- you don't have to worry so much about the trailer pulling you over either; so the concern of a high center of gravity isn't as big as you might think.

Having said that; I do see what you mean though.

Anyway... I thought the mctrailersguide.com site was good information overall for those looking to get or build one.
