All KawaNOW members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Rally Itinerary

Tuesday Aug 3-

Long Group Ride - Picnic lunch at Logan Pass (BYOL). This will be a long, challenging ride that will include an east to west crossing of Logan Pass via the famous "Going To The Sun Road". Progress can/will be impeded by tourists/construction/weather, so although the overall mileage is not that long, the time it takes to run it may be all day. Be prepared for anything! Approx. 205 Miles

Wednesday Aug 4 -

Relax, visit, do your own ride (or laundry... ;)).

Thursday Aug 5 -

Long Group Ride - Leisurely loop around Flathead Lake and up to Hungry Horse Dam. From there we will continue a loop back through GNP up Camas Rd. Looking like lunch in Big Fork. We can park right on the strip and everyone can pick their own place to dine. Approx. 216 Miles

Thursday Night Dinner-

I have reserved the banquet room at Perkins Restaurant in Kalipell for the evening of Thursday Aug 5 @ 7:00pm. It has a capacity of 40 people. This way we can have a private room for our group on the last night. Instead of a buffet, dinner orders will be from the regular menu, allowing everyone a greater choice of appetite/budget.

T-Shirts-
T-Shirts will be made on an as-needed, do-it-yourself operation. For details email me via the icon above left, but do so early if you want one or more in time for the rally.... !

Shirts can be ordered in just about any style of t-shirt or sweatshirt you choose, with the NW Rally Logo you see above. The logo can be placed on the front or the back of your shirt. With shipping, they run around $25-35 depending. The white ones are the least expensive while the black ones are the most.

KawaNOW ICE Form (In Case of Emergency)

In order to provide the highest level of safety for rally attendees, it is suggested that each attendee print out, and fill out a KawaNOW ICE form located below. After filling it out, this form is to be folded and stored in the rider's mesh pocket located in the left hard bag of their Nomad. In case of an emergency, this form can help authorities or KawaNOW members locate emergency contacts and aid in treating the rider if hospitalized.

This clashes with the anual trip to Sturgis! Maybe on a side note next year you could have it the end of bike week - that way all the folks coming back from Sturgis could return to the Northwest and could stop by on the way home! Just a thought! I know pretty much anyone would detour to meet up with more Nomad folks!!!

We booked the hotel for the 2010 NW Regional Rally. After getting input from several sources we booked the Holiday Inn Express in Kalispell.

I blocked out 20 rooms (two queen beds) for August 2,3,4,5th. The rate is $119 per night plus tax. This includes a "hot" breakfast. I know this is on the spendy side but we only do this once every two years and maybe some can double up to save a few bucks.

All rooms have a coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator ;)

I encourage you to look at their website as this is a bit nicer than your normal HIE.

You should call (406-755-7405) to reserve your room ASAP so we can get a read on how many rooms we will end up using.

When you call refer to my name Greg Schoenkopf and the dates. The block of rooms s/b easy to access under this name for any of the clerks.

It wouldn't hurt to remind them you want something facing the parking lot to see your bike.

There are a couple restaurants within walking distance and the hotel has a fire pit and patio so we can gather.
