Health Care Reform Passes
Well, I see Obama and his cronies finally pushe the health care reform through yesterday or last night. Can't help but wonder how this will help the country. Will it create any new jobs? There is a possibility that many small businesses may have to go out of business. People will have to purchase health care insurance and if they can't afford it the government will help them get it. I don't know about all of this. What are your thoughts? Let it be known that I am neither Republican nor Democrat. I sure didn't vote for Obama. Voted for the old man although he wouldn't have been my choice to lead that party. But the people have spoken. They wanted change and now by gosh they have it.

Health Care Reform Passes
There will be both good and bad resulting from the health care bill being passed.
Personally, I would rather it not have passed... at least in the manner it passed, as well as some of its substance. Just remember... Social Security; Medicare; Medicaid... all three are entitlement programs "run" by our "government". My question... "how has that worked out so far"? That my friends is my biggest fear. I worry that health care quality will diminish; but also that the cost of the entitlement of health care will stiffle our future's success. In other words... we have now entered into a new world with regard to our country's freedom and consequence of our choice.

Maybe the Dems arent worried about Nov because by the time that gets here with their power and no stoppable control... They slide a Government controls Education loans in the health care job.... what else did they hide that hasnt been found or even "Read".. elections gonna be a mute point once the momentum is there it might not be able to be stopped.
They aint stupid. Someone let the foxes into the chicken coop.... and worse yet in charge without a leash.

I'm afraid that this administration will also take away veterans earned medical care. I don't think they care about veterans anyway. Vote the suckers out in November!!!! BnG

You know the way I see it, people have been ignoring federal law for years. A good example are immigration laws. I mean, there are even government agencies that have declared their jurisdictions as sanctuaries where federal law is to be openly ignored.
I say it is time for every one of us to follow suit. Hey, millions of people have already done it and the fedreal government has ignored the violations. So, I say the precedent has been set and it is time for us to get in on the good times. I choose to ignore this legislation. Let them try to come after me. I am tired of our rights being trampled by the federal government.

I am Canadian and here is my take on "universal healthcare". IMHO.
The 3 biggest problems in our system are politicians, bureucrats and unions. The next biggest is the wave of aging baby boomers. What can you do? The next is overuse and lack of accountability by some. The problem with entitlement. That's also maybe a generational thing where your personal rights seem to go before your personal accountability. What we have less of is the huge amount of money that goes to lawyers in your system. BUT, you should know: It's NOT universal. If you have more $ you can get better service. The government does NOT tell you which doctor to go to. Doctors are private (usually with a company) who bill the system. We do have user fees. It's not free!!! You do have to pay monthly health insurance fees. At least where I live. You don't get screwed over by bottom line cutthoat insurance companies. People don't usually lose their home and all they have if they get that sick. It's far from perfect and you are very right to hold your politicians feet to the fire whether they are left or right or center so stay vigilant.

I think I covered all the players including patients so I wouldn't take it personally.

I don't think anyone knows what the final reform will be completely, but something had to be done. Too many people being dropped as well as coverage denied.
I hate party lines and in many ways I think what went on is an embarrassment to this country. Politics should be more about the people. As an additional point I'd like it known that I have a son that developed type 1 diabetes at 20 yrs old. We had to take an additional health plan to get him coverage and before this reform he was going to have to try to find his own coverage as of May 1st because he'll be turning 25. (He'll still have to look). I also want you to know he's not looking for something for nothing as he completed his bachelors degree in finance and has been looking for a job with benefits for over 2 yrs. PS. I don't think anyone should have to worry about health care or funnel all assets to health care in order survive. |

From the Memphis Tn. morning paper:
The main reason that Obama's plan phases in slowly boils down to coast. The Medicare cuts and tax increases to finance the bill start early, the sub-sidies to help people purchase coverage come later. Sounds like we take from you now and give to whom every we decide needs help when we want to. I am like snarleybill08 this is not what I served for!!!!!!!!!!!
