Fieldsheer or Frogg Toggs

For my upcoming long ride to Ohio and back I need to get rain gear and am debating between the Fieldsheer Storm 2 piece and the Frogg Toggs Road Toad 2 piece. Anybody use either or have an opinion. I know asking for an opinion from you otherwise coy and shy people is asking a lot but I am hoping y'all can help a brotha out. :)

Whichever but, I would not buy any that did not have the heat shield on the pants

Fieldsheer or Frogg Toggs

I use the Frogg Toggs and they work well. I just spent 7+ hours riding in pouring rain and pretty much stayed dry. They are light and pack small. They are an item like duct tape. Every group thinks they discovered them. A couple of years back when Frogg Toggs were relativly unknown my wife took a set to a "Becoming an Outdoorsman" weekend. The instructor made her pass them around to show everyone. Hunters love them and I have read other MC forums touting the virtues. Having said all that, if I were going to plan on a month long trip I would probably want something more substantial than the FTs, but for something to throw into your saddlebag against a sudden shower I will keep my Frogg Toggs.

The Akron/Canton area where I grew up. My sister is getting married up on Lake Erie and so I am taking the opportunity to ride up.

Sounds close to home, I was born and grew up in Alliance.
In fact, heading up there next month.

I actually grew up in Louisville, just down 62 from Alliance. When will you be there in August? I will be there from the 5th through the 12th.

I just ordered a one-peice Tourmaster suit, but haven't recieved it yet, etc., etc., so I can't help you much either. Just thought this might be one more option to look at.

i was born and raised in akron, ohio so we have something in common.went west in 1981 and never looked back.i learned
in custer just how fast frog toggs can melt on hot pipes but they
do indeed pack very small so it doesn't take up near the space
of regular rain gear.

I rode from Pueblo, CO up over some pass and down into NM through some pretty crappy rain and wind and my Toggs kept me plenty dry, even with the holes I have melted in the leg 'cause I'm just not that careful around my pipes. I have melted glasses cases and earbud cords on them.

I kept ripping the crotch and armpit area out of my Frogg Toggs so I threw them away. I'm pretty sure it was because I was already partly wet when i tried to put them on. due to the wetness they just didn't slip on easily.

I don't have either, but use mountain gear made of gortex. No matter what it is, use a bungie cord or better and tie up that right pant leg..

I've got the Frogg Toggs "roadies" and they're pretty good. I like 'em and use 'em.
