big bend Texas

going to Big Bend next week. anyone have info about gas availability, places to go or avoid, etc. Will be camping

Anyplace near the river is probably going to be under water...
Go to the NPS Big Bend website and call their info number posted there. My crew is supposed to go there in three weeks, but we may have to redirect to Fort Davis or someplace else...

Yep, I think they have stopped releasing water and it's supposed to crest and start dropping water level, but parts of the park down by the river (Rio Grande Village, some parts of Santa Elena Canyon,etc ) are still under water. No worries, it's a big park. Terlingua and all of the surrounding communities are just fine.

Update on Big Bend... River Road (highway 170) between Presidio and Lajitas is closed. Water and boulders on the road in various places...

Yeah, you should ride on a Goldwing with wife on back and trailer behind...
