Good bye, friends!

Dear Friends,

it hurts a little but I traded the Nomad in for a bike I had a long "love affair" with, a 2006 Yamaha Stratoliner S. The Nomad has been fairly good to me (except the initial problems I had with hesitation etc.) but I find myself riding more and more 2-up, highway and the incredible power of the Strat (1,854 cc, 100 hp) is just mindboggling. It's 2-tone silver and comes with 2 windshields (short and tall), Mustang and Stock seats, and aftermarket slip on exhaust. 11k miles from the original owner who traded it back in to the dealer since it felt too large for him - he got a Triumph of some sort. Tires are almost new, not a scratch anywhere. A picture from the dealer is below; I will pick her up next Saturday.

In the meantime, I got to keep the 3-pc Mustang Seat for the Nomad, as well as a "Lonnie backrest" that fits the OEM seats - I will put those up for sale in the appropriate section to give you guys first shot at it.

I want to thank everyone here for their help, friendliness and don't make any mistake about it: The Nomad is the better looking of the two bikes and overall an incredible cruiser - I just like large (in terms of roominess and engine power). Hope I will meet a few of you on the road at one point.

Cheers,
Carsten

Good bye, friends!

Congratulations on the new bike. Just because you got the Strat doesn't mean you can't come by and hang out with us.

Good bye, friends!

Take care, moenko.

The strat "S" is a gorgeous bike. I had a hard time deciding between it and the Nomad. I saw my first "Strat S" parked along side a couple of harleys in 2007. The harleys looked pitiful and toy like next to the Strat.

I had a hard time finding any Strat S's around North Texas that wasn't maroon. I went with the Nomad because I liked the color, saddlebags, and the dealer was dealing.

Best wishes on your new ride.

Good bye, friends!

Carsten,

Congratulations on your new Stratoliner. It's a beauty. I hope that you enjoy many hours of riding on it.

And just because you no longer have the Nomad that doesn't mean you need to be a stranger. Feel welcome to hang around!

Cheers!
Bob

Carsten,

If you still plan to visit the VR Forum, I'll see ya there. That Stratoliner is a nice bike. I wish the Nomad had that engine. 100 horses...man, you could peel up the asphalt with that thing.

Take care, my friend!

Good bye, friends!

Doc buddy, if the Nomad came with that engine, you would have as close to a "perfect" cruiser as it gets. The Nomad just looks sharp, but those who know me have heard me say many times: For the weight, hopelessly underpowered. The Strat barely weighs more than the Nad (it's got an aluminum monoframe) and the torque and sheer power is amazing; even when 2-up. I have had a friend's Roadliner Midnight (the cousin of the Strat) up to 120 mph GPS speed and LOT'S of room to go I have read a riding report on motorcyclecruiser.com and they said the Strat leaves EVERY other cruiser (including the 2000+ cc's out there) in the dust.

Good bye, friends!

Great bike moenko! As said before don't be a stranger 'round here. I've just competed a months worth of shopping for bikes, so I know you have to pick what YOU like and take other ideas under consideration. I'm picking up my '07 Nomad this Saturday as well. I hope your not as giddy with anticipation as I am. :)
