Zumo 550 Mount?
For the folks that have a Zumo 550 (or450)...What mount did you use on your bike? Did you use the included RAM mount and long power cord that comes with the unit or did you use something aftermarket?
I'm looking at getting these two items from Powerlet: - Garmin Zumo PowerMount with Ram Mount (PBK-005 @ $59.95) http://www.powerletproducts.com/prod...t-ram-mount/62 and - Handlebar Outlet that also mounts gadgets (PKT-090-54-C @ $129.95) http://www.powerletproducts.com/prod...ts-gadgets/347 I know these are pricey but, I'm thinking they'll make the mount look more "built in" as opposed as "added on". I don't like the "U" clamp that comes with the Zumo. I'm not sure if the mirror mount will work on the Nomad. Besides, I'd like to have the Zumo centered on the bar when mounted. I also like the idea of a short power cord going to an outlet. When I get off the bike, I'd like to be able to remove the Zumo, cord and mount with only an outlet left behind. Seems to be more secure to me. Comments or suggestions? Thanks

Zumo 550 Mount?
Looks like it would work for you. I can see why you want GPS mounted in the center.
I thought about the same thing except I find its much easier to reach mounted on bar on left side.

Zumo 550 Mount?
I used the ram mount which came with the Zumo 550 and hard wired it into the headlight bucket, that way the power is always on if I stop along the way. I remove the GPS when far away from the bike and use the provided cover protect the contact points on the mount. Have not had any problems with it. I knew there might be a problem with the "U" bolt rusting so I first fed it thru some shrink wrap tubing, leaving only the threads exposed. An added bonus was providing some padding between the "U" and the handlebar. No scratches.

I ran into this fella last summer, he had some very nice mounts for Ipods and Gps units.
