Car Tire
Dunno where BD is on this... Not sure how he got the tire mounted either, but I did my CT by hand because no one would take green backs and do it.
I would imagine BD's tire can be put on by hand too. Mine is the Dunlop Sp 5000 in 195/60 R 16.

BD and I both rund the same tire. Continental Vanco 8 light truck tire. I bought a Harbor Freight tire changer and was determined to mount the tire myself. I destroyed the changer in the effort and had to get it repaired. Very stiff side walls. The local Suzi dealer happily finished mounting the tire for me.

After receiving the tire I knew there was no possible way I was going to mount that sucker by hand! I couldn't even pinch the beads together by standing on the dang thing! I chucked at Bud trying to do it by hand and even called him laughing when he failed! All in good fun of course!

I run this same tire.. if you're gonna mount it yourself, it'll take better equipment than anything Harbour Freight has to offer.

Try a small mom and pop shop. I started with the closest one, and they did it for the same price as mounting a mc tire.

Good Grief!!!!!!! I seen the thread title and I thought "Oh Lord, somebody's poking the Darksiders again". :)
Installing a car tire is easier than you think if you have a little bit of mechanical ability. It would help to be a little stout to.

Thats the point mac. If I get a flat and didn't have plugs or air I think I could, if I had to, ride at a reduced speed and make it home!

BD you might... I had a rear mc dunop on Liberty that went flat and was so stuff at the side walls I had no idea I had a flat. At a red light turning green the wheel spun in the tire, riding 2 up, and I thought the clutch went to lunch on first impression..
In that event you will really heat the tire up, no air dead flat and still riding. I assume you know, but want to make sure everyone does... LOL once in a cage (Saab 900) my wife calls from her cell to say the car has no power. I tell stay put and leave instanlty with tools I figure I will need.... Long before I get to the location I suspect she had a flat and drove on it.. Little tell tales like rubber hunks and wire on the road, and no alligators.. Sure enough there she is, and the car has a capitol dead wheel with no tire at all left... Mag wheels and paved road isn't a great mix.. I just love that stuff...

The only problem I had with mounting the CT on my bike was..
The bike tire and rim was only about 5 lbs,. where the CT and rim was around 20 lbs. It was hard to get the angle and weight together to get it under the fender! But I can gar-in-tee... I won't go back to the BT! .

Car Tire
After checking the darksiders forum for local shops to mount Lucille's Continental, I stopped just on a whim and asked at a new shop that opened up in my old stompin grounds. He said sure I'll mount it. so I took him the tire this afternoon and will ride over in the morning when they open to cross over to the dark side.
