Leaning oil from shocks

Does anyone know if oil ever leaks from the rear shocks? Have oil dripping from the bolt at the bottom that goes into the drive unit.

Sure if you have a leaking seal they will lose oil. Also if it is leaking oil have you checked the air pressure in the shocks?, probable that the leaking one won't hold air either.

Also, if your shock is leaking, run your finger around the shock just above where it attaches, at the bottom, if its leaking, you'll know it....

Ok thanks everyone. It is leaking from the shock don't know yet if it is from the drive or the shock itself. Will check the air pressure and see. Is there a seal that goes between the bolt on the drive?

What bolt are you talking about? Can you post a pick?

No,its an integral part of the drive housing, all one part.

Sounds like you have a seal leaking in the drive unit. If it were the shock it would have made a little nasty trail from the shock down the outside of the drive unit. Unless you are talking about the lower shock mounting stud.

You didn't happen to recently change the drive oiled did you? It takes very little overfill of the drive unit to cause a leak.
