throttle
Hi everybody, when I twist my throttle from idle , I can twist it slowly and nothing happens and all of a sudden it revs up. I can get it to idle and 2000 rpm nothing in between. I got it Ivanized .

Rac N Ray's throttle upgrade makes your RPM's increase faster from a idle. I had one on my Voyager and removed it after I had Ivan re-flash my ECU. I felt it was smoother without it after Ivanizing and the throttle mod with the ECU mod was too much. Before the ECU mod Ray's mod was better than stock.

I kept Ray's throttle fix. I think it works great with Ivans flash but it seems I'm the only one

Something is not right at all. Does it do this in all gears or at idle? Did you install the ECU as detailed by Ivan?

Yes I did, it only does this when at idle , when im cruising it will go up as normal.
At idle , I turn the throttle slowly and it wont move off idle till I turn it enough then it goes to 2000 rpm. I cant get anything between idle and 2000 rpm and hold it there when its in neutral. |

Did this happen immediately after the ECU was reprogrammed ?
Either way, call Ivan. |

I think it was doing it before I got it Ivanizied.
I just bought the bike so I havent had much chance to ride it. The person who owned it before me bought the extended warranty so I still have a month left on it. I have it at the dealer Right now going thru it and see if there is anything wrong before the warranty runs out. |

Perhaps the throttle cables are a little loose? Unless both sides are set up perfectly, there can be a little lag in the line.
To understand what Ray's throttle grip thing does, see any of the "quick turn throttle mod" guides online. Here's one. I've done that mod on my last few bikes, but took it off my Voyager after Ivanizing, for more accurate control. Ivan's flash gives a lot more instant response, which can be hard to manage over a rough road surface at around town speeds.

If anybody has a chance, can you let your bike idle and gently turn the throttle just enough to see if you can hold it at about 1500 R P M and if you do do you have the racnray mod or not.

I can do it. I know, the stock throttle is jerky. Just check the cable (there are two) and give them just a tad of tension - that's what I did. Worked for me.
BTW : my bike is not ivanized - due to emission checks here in frickin germany. Cu, Sven

What does racenray,s throttle grip thing actually do?[/QUOTE Make sure your cables are properly adjusted. Rac N Ray has posted a procedure how to do the adjustment. I have my own version of Ray's mod and it work just fine. On problem I found with my throttle grip was with the clearance between the throttle grip plastic tube and the handlebar. There was .030" clearance between the two and I found the tube pulled on the cables at times making it impossible to control the input for the throttle control I wanted. I removed the grip and wrapped the handlebar with one layer of black electrical tape. That took care of the problem. You can do a quick check by lifting the throttle grip up and down. If there is excessive movement, there is potential for unwanted throttle input.
