posting a photo
Hi
I know this has been covered before but I'm having trouble for some reason. I want to post a pic. in a thread and want it to just be in that post not follow me wherever I post. I though using photobucket all I had to do is click on "image code" for the photo I wanted {that copies it} and then go to the post where I am writing something and right click it and paste. Is that right or wrong? When I try to paste it in my posting, it doesn't offer me an opportunity to paste. ??? ??? ???

I host all my own images, so I can tell you how I do it, I think it would work the same for photobucket. I use firefox for the browser so it is a bit easier than with some other browsers.
I find the picture I want to paste and right click on it, then select 'copy image location' then I paste that between the img tags. In IE, I have to right click, select properties, then click and drag over the Address (URL) and copy that. I think in photo bucket there is a place where the address is listed, copy that then right click and paste that between the img tags. If paste is not available then it is not being copied, you likely need to copy it first, clicking on the 'image code' likely is not copying it.

In photobucket you just run your pointer over the picture and it will get a drop down go to the bottom one and click on it then right click and copy then you can paste it in your thread.

Rick, you seem to be doing everything right except............
After you copy the code you need to click on the box with a picture in it. It is in the second row of boxes above the big white box you are typing in. It is between the globe pic and the envelope pic. Run your cursor over it and it will say insert image. When you click on it it will put imagining brackets in your reply and you then paste your pic link between the brackets. Hope you understand my rambling ;)

Ricky, oldbikers is right. When you left click on the "image code" box it will highlight in blue but that doesn't actually copy it.
Two ways to copy it after it's highlighted in blue: 1. Right click and then click on the word copy in the drop down box that opens. 2. Hold down the Ctrl key and then press the C key. Also, two ways to paste it: 1. Right click in the area where you want to paste it and then click on the word paste in the drop down box that opens. 2. With the cursor in the area where you want to paste hold down the Ctrl key and press the V key.

Thanks guys....I have never had a problem doing this before now. The difference is that I have a new lap top. I wonder if it's the settings on it that might be making the difference.?? I'll try your suggestions ..... some are a different way to get to the same destination, I'm guessing.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I didn't have anything in the subject line of my post so the boaard wouldn't accept the photo. :-[
