Is anyone using the Cobra Power Pro Black?
Am about ready to pull the trigger on a Dobeck EJK but I was hoping someone might have some first hand experience with the PowerPro Black before I do. Does it do what it says it does?

It would appear to me that you want the Powr Pro Black because there are no adjustments to be made and that it does it automatically ?
Basically you just want to stop your bike pinging, is that correct ? If so the EJK is all you need. |

Had a dobeck on my 1600 was constantly adjusting it trying to get it just right. mostly pot 2. It did go bad, bike started smoking(black) really bad. Took it off and cleared up. I just started running higher octane and it didn't ping. With dobeck I could use 87. With out it 91-93. My bike was stock intake and stock debaffled pipes.
Son had a power pro on his Fury ran great and didn't have to do anything he used 89 in it. I would vote for the power pro.

I had a Powrpro on my 2010 Voyager and was disappointed with the performance gain for the money I spent. It was only after I put on an aftermarket intake that I noticed any real difference. On my 1600 Nomad the Dobeck TFI did what I wanted it to do which was to eliminate the pinging.

I just bought an 08 Nomad 1600 with V&H pipes and a Hypercharger. There is currently no fuel programmer on it of any kind. I replaced the plugs with Iridiums and have put about 100 miles on it. It runs great and near zero popping on decel (no actual backfiring) and no surging or lagging that I could feel. But upon checking the plugs after 100 miles, they are pretty much perfectly clean. So I'm just concerned it's running lean and don't want the engine damage in the long run from it. So that's my main reason for putting on the programmer. I've heard and read many accounts of people installing them only to have constant issues tinkering with them and never really getting them adjusted to their liking. That's why I thought the Power Pro Black was worth investigating as I dont want to have to tinker and re-adjust constantly. Does the Power Pro do what it says and keep the mixture optimum?

I think Cobra thinks it does. For $449 it had better do what is says.
