ice storm

Well folks I'm back up and running. As some of you may have seen on the news here in Northern Arkansas we had an Ice storm that left us powerless and phoneless for about eight days and some folks are still with out power and will be for a few more weeks due to rural access. We have power companys from all over the country here helping repair the down lines. At one estimate the local power co said they had 4000 ( yes thats thousand ) power poles broke from the weight of the ice and and unknown amount of lines down. the Nad has been parked and unable to move. The only way to exit my drive for the first couple of days was in my old truck cuttting accross the field, and 4x4 is a must. now that I have spent three days cutting the trees from my driveway and the help of a warm day, the weather man is predicting a warmer weekend ( mid 50's ) and my wife and I are going to take off over night. If any one here is a power worker or contractor in my area thanks for your help and I wish you a safe trip home when you get to leave. Ride safe

Good news to hear! Ice storms are so destructive, as almost everything is affected by them. Hope things keep getting better.

Glad you're doing OK. I've lived through my share of ice storms and that is sure something I would rather do without. :(
Enjoy your ride!

I guess all the snow I've been getting is a lot better than the ice. Glad you survived

Finally got in touch with a friend of ours over in Flippin. She finally had power back on after 10 days. Says the damage is incredible.

Went for a ride north of us yesterday - man it looks like a tornado came through. Forturnately the weather this weekend is up in the 60's now so they have nice weather to clean up.
