I think you did the right thing by leaving LaPorte. Just seeing the storm surge so far tells me that this is going to be a bad hurricane. Hell I am 80 miles or so inland and we are projected to get 80 to 90 mph winds with 100 mph gusts. Stay safe cause even huntsville is going to feel this storm.

Hunkering down in Deer Park.
I'm so ready for this ordeal to be over.
I boarded, or helped board, my 5th house today.

All the sensationalist media crap on TV is killing me.

The TV is sensationalizing this storm a bit to much. They all live for crap like this.

I hear ya alllllll the way around! We're hunkering down here at home...not expecting too much, but either way, I would rather be here if something happens to my house than coming back to a huge mess.

Everybody be safe out there!!!!

No electricity yet, most likely. Hard to keep it up and running in those kind of winds.

JD lost a few shingle and messed up a few trees. Neighbors carport poked a hole in the roof of JDs truck... he said he was looking for duct tape. He helped a neighbor cut up trees and another neighbor BBQd and fed them so he aint gonna waste away....unless he runs out of coffe! Electricity is off but water is OK. Guy who work for the waterwork and a pumpstation both on the block. Generators running the pumps.

We are alive and kicking. The house did not sustain any damage just have about 2 weeks worth of cleanup. Power is out water is out. I have my generator going but fuel is hard to come by so is water for washing dishes and bathing and flushing toilets.
I have spoken with LW and he only lost a few shingles and just like everyone else he has no power. I have been told it my take up to a month to restore power to everyone
