Custer Rally info?

To anyone, and everyone,

I'm doing my typical late planning for a big ride and went to the rally forum and found about 1,600 posts to read through.

I clicked on some likely ones like rally info and found that the first posts were still just announcing what hotel was considered, then many more posts following it.

So to save time for the newbies, and late planners, can we get a thread here of pertinent information that is easy to get to?

When exactly is the rally, and what would be good to know about expectations (ice forms etc)?

Do me a favor and help me out and save me from 1,600 posts, give it to me condensed right here if you would be so kind.

Yes Dan there is a link to an information packet just above the Donate button. It contains all the information and forms that you need for the rally.

Lets see what I can condense for ya.....One thread talked about the weather - be sure to bring some warm clothing, chaps etc; one thread talked about motels how we are scattered in several hotels in Custer and how much our room rate is-some camping; one thread talked about what folks plan on doing Wed morning free time- some going to Stugis just to say been there and get t-shirt; and one thread talked about planned ride for thurs -would they get back in time to head over for the final dinner Thurs night. Dicussion was that should get back if folks stick to the schedule...ie lined up and ready to roll at predetermined times, gas tanks full , keep the group tight etc.. That's about all I can think about right now.

You might check your PM files. Of course I'm assuming (and I know that's inherently dangerous) that Trip sent the following message to Nomaddicts everywhere:

Quote:
Well, the time is counting down for our 1st ever National Rally in Custer, SD. In just two short weeks, over 70 people and over 50 Nomads will be converging on the small town of Custer, South Dakota for some of the best roads, fun and food.

If you plan to attend, please do the following for me:
1. Go to the National Rally website at http://www.kawanow.org/rally2009.htm and click on the Information Packet PDF link located just below the words, "Nomads In The Black Hills".
2. Once you have the PDF packet opened, please print the whole packet and fill out the Rally Waiver and In Case Of Emergency forms. Bring the printed and filled out packet with with you to the rally for registration.
3. Keep an eye on the Rally Board here on this forum. All types of information about the rally is being discussed including who is coming and who they are riding in with. If you are coming and haven't hooked up with someone traveling to the rally from your area, this would be a good place to start looking. Many have already made plans to meet up and ride in together.

Have a safe trip to Custer and remember, "Don't shoot until you see the color of their Nomad".

Trip

Hey thanks you all.

That's just what I needed :)

I missed the link at the top mixed in with all the other Kawanow links, and my PM box has about 300 pm's in it, so Trips got lost in the shuffle. Besides, starting to plan today for it is early for me!

Yup, I only knew that people are headed out from here on Mon from my partner's in crime on the southwest board recently. And as of this morning I didn't even know for how many days to schedule myself off for. Didn't know how long the rally was going for.

I needed to find out so I don't schedule clients during it.

I'll get around to packing for it on Sunday night, and at some point I'll look at a map and see how to get there, and with who. :)
