Mine was too. If I'm not mistaken all K&N filters come pre oiled.

I asked Joe the same thing when I first got mine. Joe advised me he pre-oils all the filters in his kits.

Cleaning the K&N
How often should you clean and re oil in normal highway riding?
And how to you tell when to clean? I would think the oil would turn dark as it got dirtier?

Remember a K&N type filter filters better when it's a little dirty.
