Phone music Bluetooth control
I just saw this and thought I would Share it. I HAVE NOT TRIED IT.
About the same cost as the Apple Adapter But you do not have to deal with Apple I-pods. Granted you will use a new and not the stock controls. Still It may work for some, So I shared it. https://www.plexaudio.com/product-pa...uetooth-remote What are your thoughts??

I was trying to avoid the Apple problem also. You must use solid-state early model iPods or Nanos !!! I had nothing but trouble with my Apple classic 160g. The older ones are literally a dime a dozen and I bought one with a bad screen cuz you don't need it. Amps are very easy to install. Kenwood M1824bt, is Marine grade. The controls are right above the stock controls. See picture. I use mirror extenders and the mirror doesn't bother too much in the middle of the controls. A used camera adapter -I think it was- withone of the clutch reservoir screws. I linked my phone and can change volume skip go back songs everything. Still use my radio and apple if I want. Oh and when using the phone there's a couple of free apps that turn the music down when I come up to a stop. Must haves. I usually put the phone in a phone mount between the handlebar clamps. But I also can put it in one of the storage drawers. Oh I forgot the amp has a USB port which I use for charging the phone. |

I got the ipod adapter, then attached a bluetooth receiver to it, that way, with an andriod phone, i can pair, play my songs from my phone, and use the handle controls. only thing missing is the song title on display and that's not a concern for me.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's a great and relatively inexpensive set up, but I would rather use the handle bar controls again!

Ziffle,
Welcome to the forum. If you want to use blue tooth, May I suggest making an adapter before cutting any wires. In the right side glovebox you will find a 3 pin plug. Buy the patch cord parts for the plug from here: http://www.cycleterminal.com/mt-series-090.html . Then you can add a blue tooth adapter with a headphone jack on it like the " Cool Stream Duo" Or You may still find one of these patch cords Pre made on Ebay and other places. Just an option. Personally I hate cutting stock wires, when I can make a plug/ patch cord to do the job. Made one for my trailer lights, and put the bike back to stock before it went in for service. No one Knew. Ok, I pulled off the trailer hitch too.

On my 2015 Voyager the plugs are in the left side glove box, sitting on the bike.
