Just upgradaded the speakers and amp.
I bought a refurb Kenwood Kac-M1814 amp. It has four channel at 2 ohms at 45 watts per speaker rms and can be bridged to two channel 4 ohms at 90 watts per speaker rms. I used polk DB522 5.25 100 watt rms and 300 watt peak marine speakers. I first hooked it up with 45 watts and thought it could be louder. Then I bridged the amp to send the 90 watts and the small speakers came to life. I am very happy now and at anytime I can upgrade to 6.5 speakers if I feel like it.

COOL, I have the same speakers. On my second Amp, Made a tray over the amp to deflect water that could drip down from the windshield. Seems my first amp did not like the water.

You have it backwards impedance (ohms) decreases and wattage increases.
45 watts RMS x 4 at 2 to 4 ohms 90 watts RMS x 2 bridged at 4 ohms https://www.crutchfield.ca/p_113KAM1...g&awug=9000660 |
