Summer Kickstand tip?
Now that summer is coming, sometime soon? I thought of the Kickstand pad. While watching “Her Two Wheels” on u-tube she had an issue with the pad, while upright and under a load, Camping load. It had flipped over and was out of place. This put her off balance. It made me think, Who does not know this.
An old Harley rider showed me a Tip/ Trick for this. Put a key ring on the end/ loop of the kickstand pad, attach some sort of cordage. Bring it up to the handle bars, add 2 foot. Put a loop in it and drape the loop over the handlebar, around the bar. Make it of some contrasting color. Now take it back and wrap the cord around the pad and store it where ever way you choose. Pocket, Tank bag, Side bags. With it wrapped around the foot pad from the last time, Deploy it and adjust it to the correct location for your bike. Set the bike down. You will not be off balance, even with a load and your good to go. This is also helpful on blacktop parking lots in the heat of the summer. Now just put the loop around the handlebar. It will remind you not to leave the pad and you will have it for the next stop every time. Saves Money!! BONUS: Any time you may need a bit more cordage to strap something down, Well you have some.
