Goldwing

My brother who bought a Goldwing about the same time as I bought my Nomad is quick to point out the virtues of the Goldwing.
I tell him"sometimes I think you bought a two wheeled car"
More proof arrived today, check out changing the rear wheel on a Goldwing video.

Wow, I don't think I could just drop my bike over on its side like that!

He makes it look pretty easy, I would spend more time getting the jack under my Nomad. I think I spend well over over two hours to get my wheel on and off the bike.
Now changing spark plugs and an air filter probably takes him a lot longer.
My brothers BMW is a pain just to change the oil, he has to remove about 30-40 screws to get at his engine and the filter is a $36.00 spin on that is actually inside the crankcase.

I'm pretty sure if I lay my Nomad down it will be by mistake and it will lay down a lot more than the Wing.
My brother is always sending me videos on goldwings. I don't know where he finds them all. One day he sent a clip of Goldwings in Japan modified and used as tow trucks for small cars.

Just not sure I would want to do that if I had one....even after seeing it done.

I spoiled myself this past May--and got a motorcycle lift---makes tire chging and overall service a breeze---I wouldn't intentionally lay it down.

If I had a Goldwing, and if I didn't have a jack, and if I had to change the rear tire, and if there was no other way to do it at the time, it's nice to know that it can be done.

Lot of "ifs" and I don't have a Goldwing and probably never will.

LOL!!!!!!!
This is too funny....we have alot of GoldWing riders in our local Southern Cruisers gang that SWEAR Chaz would be happier with one of those instead of his Nomad. One even let Chaz take his out for a test ride!!!!

Then, at a stop for a charity poker run, I tried sitting on one to get the feel of it

Chaz and I both agree it is just not for us..... ;)

I hope you don't mind, but I copied your link to that video and posted on our local forum to rib all those 'wingers!!!

I don't think I am ready for a Goldwing yet either. My wife says "If your going to drive a motorcycle at least drive one that looks like a motorcycle". Ok honey I'll just keep on buying cruisers ,OK?

And here's the link to a gold wing used as a tow truck.

I would think there would be certain human body-parts that would be going somewhere there not supposed to when lifting that thing!!!!

Very possible, being an opposing six the lower three cylinders look pretty low compared to the engine casing. like others have commented, I myself won't do this if I owned a wing.
If I did, I Would wait a bit for the oil to drain back down once the bike was upright again before starting.

Having said that I know my brother has dropped his in the garage by accident and was over for a shorter period of time. No cosmetic damage and no blue smoke on start up.
