79,000 miles

Hey Everybody. This is my first post. I have found a beautiful VN1500 nomad with 79,000 mile on it. This would be my first bagger and it is in my budget. It has been well taken care of. in fact it looks new. Is this too many miles though? could I expect a 100,000 or better?

you don't mention what year it is but if it has been well maintained 100,000 should be no problem.

It sounds like it was well taken care of. We have some guys on this forum whose bikes are in the 130's + . Maintain her properly and you should have no problems reaching those numbers.

Welcome from Vermont.
A former member of this forum has 160K on his 1999 Nomad.
He just changed the motor out, he said that at a 160K the motor
was needing to be completely rebuilt, he found a motor fairly cheap,
so he swapped it out. Good luck, with your purchase.

I have over 110k on my 800, and a fellow in Canada has over 250k on his 1700. Best thing about these Vulcans, take care of them and they dont know when to stop.

Why did you have to get rid of it?
