To BBQ or Not BBQ

Jared (Utah) and I have been talking about some of the items with the Regional Meeting in June. One of the topics was having a BBQ. Hamburgers and hotdogs. It looks like we will have a small group right now so that is not much of an issue as it would be with a large group.

Just looking for additional input from everyone.

Joel- Did you contact the hotel to find out if they have a grill?

There ought to be a grocery store in town where we can get all the supplies. It might be difficult getting it all back unless we have a car, or everyone can go and carry their portion back.

If we have access to a grill I say lets have a BBQ!!! :)

Jared,

I haven't contacted the motel yet. However, most parks would have one or I know several people down in the area.

As far as getting stuff there, I have a tour pack, CJ (if he is able to attend) has a tour pack and trailer so I don't think that will be a problem.

Jared,

If it's just me and you, it's going to a 2 inch thick cut steak!

Hey Guys I'm all for the BBQ and steaks are as easy as burgers. however if it is a small group we could just pick a restraunt all go to dinner and get together after at the Motel or have a Pizza Party. Of course we are going to be there enough nights to do all three.

I won't be pulling my trailer, so don't count on having one there. I'll be traveling light.

Yeah, I'll have my tour pack. I bought a T-Bags "Bagger" model pack that sits on the rear seat between the armrests. I plan to use that for shorter trips instead of pulling the trailer.

Frankly, the problem with a BBQ is the need for condiments and what to do with them afterwards. I don't think any of us are going to have the capacity (or desire) to carry catsup, mustard, pickles, etc., around on our bikes. Personally, I'd rather eat at a cafe than have to deal with the BBQ hassle.

Or as Rod mentioned, ordering pizza could be an option.

CJ, I know what you are talking about. Generally on something like this I buy a cheap bottle of ketchup and mustard and just discard when done. However, we could do the pizza. Just thinking of something different that we could do.

You could always gut some road kill and grill that. ;)

We are having a local place do BBQ at our rally.
