The first miner reached the surface at roughly 10:12 PM Central Time. This is really great news and am watching live on Fox. Always great to have a little good news.

Just watching the 11:00 pm news here in Montreal saw live the first miner coming up in the capsule. Quite an amazing rescue.

Ived watched quite a bit of it today, and just saw the end here at work. That was quite an ordeal those miners went through.
The one miner, Mario who brought up a bag of rocks will probably make a fortune if he puts them up on Ebay.

I've got alot of respect for these guys. Surviving for 17 days rationing food and water and running low on O2 before hearing from above is super human. Good character, comradery, and intense training pulled them through this ordeal. Their shift supervisor who was the last to come out is one heck of a leader.

Glad they are all out. That must have been some ordeal for those 33 miners. Those guys worked together to stay alive. The foreman was the last to come out as it should be. Look out for your men first. They will respect him for doing that.

I am very thankful that they all made it out safely. I am however curious how many of these men will return to mining. If this was in the US there would have been a lawsuit already filed and these men would probably have enough money to live the rest of their lives without another day of work. But in Chile I wonder what will happen to them once the media moves onto the next big thing.

I heard it mentioned when they were pulling the last few miners out that multiple lawsuits have already been filed in Chile. If any of these guys go back underground it will probably be because they want to. There will be talk shows in the US and I'm sure there will be book deals. I would be surprised if any have to go back to support their livelihoods.
