What do you mean smoother? The ride or the engine? Mine has 17000 on it and its smooth as silk except the rear suspension ride is a little rough. It will free up some as it breaks in. Mines even smooth at 90

I noticed on my Vaq, matter of fact on all my skoots and including when I have performed engine rebuilds, that engine smoothness and mpg will improve, especially in the first 1000 miles, but will continue a slower improvement afterwards. Here's the mileage on my 2011 as of right now... RACNRAY

My 2015 was a little rough and when it hit 1000 miles the exhaust got louder and the performance improved. Might be a break in thing. Also, I was very careful not to exceed RPM break in recommendations.
Give it 1000 miles to break in. Also at 600 you need to get the first service. |

I just clicked over 8500 miles. After switching to synthetic oil and getting a good map for the Powwr Commander V, my bike is running smoother and stronger than ever. MPG could be better but thats my fault lately. I have been running her at 80 mph + on the highway. She just wants to stretch her legs.

The 1700 has a special kryptomagnetic coating on the hydrodynamic bearings and a new molecule-splitting spray (developed by amsoil) on the cylinders. The coating lasts about 180,000 miles and the spray goes almost a quarter million miles, but after they wear off the engine runs as smooth as a Goldwing and gets nearly 70 mpg. Sadly, most owners don't keep these bikes that long and never get to experience this, those of us that have need to wear high boots all the time.
