Are all portable air compressors created equal?

So I'm going to buy a portable air compressor and a tire plug kit. I want it to take up as little room as possible, so here is what I have picked out. The tire plug kit seems to be a little different than the standard plugs, so looking for opinions on both. Thanks

Plug Kit - http://www.amazon.com/Dynaplug-1007-...=36VKLBLB2XPO0
Compressor- http://www.amazon.com/Slime-40001-Po...=36VKLBLB2XPO0

I'm not familiar with that plug kit, so I can't speak to it. Here's the kit I carry: http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1...&item=INN_3516 I have used it a few times. I have not used the CO2 canisters, and have read they will not fully inflate a large cruiser tire, so I also carry the same Slime compressor you have the link to. I have never used it to fully inflate a tire, but have tested it to top one off.

I carry the Slime compressor and plug kit and luckily have not had to use it. Sure hope I don't have to. I feel confident that it will do the job when needed.

MC,

I ended up buying the Slime compressor. What I did notice, is the prices fluctuated quite a bit depending on where it was being sold. I ended up buying my Slime at Walmart, think it was about $10 bucks cheaper then what you are showing. Also bought my tire sticky worm kit at Walmart, too.

Haha, I feel the same way, but way better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. Another reason I'm glad the Nomad is tubeless. Makes fixing tires on the side of the road possible

I use the same slim pump. It works good, Ihave inflated my tire to 40 psi with no problem, it just takes a few minutes. I also have put a quick disconnect on the end of the hose and I use it to fill my shocks as well. It pumps the shocks up great it only takes about three seconds to get them to 30 psi. I would recommend the pump to anyone wanting an inexpensive and easy to use pump. It also fits nicely in the saddle bag area designed for the manual and other odds and ends.

The gauge is also pretty accurate. The pump is also rugged I forgot to disconnect it from the rear tire and rolled over it with the rear tire. It only cracked the case on the corner and it still works as good as ever. This pump is all I use to air my tires.

You should use a hand pump with a gauge and no-loss fitting to accurately inflate your shocks.

Its sold under the Mastercraft lable here at our Canadian Tire stores. It plugs into the cigarette lighter and Ive been using mine for a few years now. They normally sell for about $20.00 but go on sale once in a while as low as $6.99.
