Under the seat. Disconnect the quick connects and put in a jumper wire between them with the new connections. Then you don't have to break the wire, solder or destroy the old wiring. If you want to remove the trailer hookup, then you can easily and with out a trace of it even being installed.

Gadgets Fixit sight has an article on how to connect them. You need a tailight converter wired up as well.

Yeah, what Ring said. Or even better do what I did. Go to the technical board under electrical and you'll find Hopkins trailer wiring write up by Cajunrider. It's even got pictures and groovy stuff like that!

You definitely need the Hoppy Converter.
As for the connections, I personally don't care for the clamp on splicers. They can come loose and give you problems. Kawhead is right, check out cajunriders post on this install on the electrical board.

Question. I have the 2005 and am just about ready to do the wiring on my bike for a trailer. On the electrical section for this, it says and shows in the picture he also has a "Kuryakyn Run/Turn/Brake module" beside the Hoppy module.
So what is that saying, I need both of them, or does the Hoppy module do everything to wire the bike to the trailer? Am I misreading something? It's right up my alley with a lot of pictures! ;-)

You don't need the R/T/B module for the Hoppy. I installed the module before wiring up the Hoppy. The only reason I mention the module is you don't want to wire up the Hoppy between the module and the tail lights. It will fry the module. If you do have a R/T/B module, you want to tap in the Hoppy upstream of the module.

Bull,
I just did this three weeks ago. As Mitch said, you don't need anything in addition to the Hoppy. It will take the bikes separate brake and turn lights and make it where one light on the trailer will perform both tasks.

I already have one wire for my driving lights hooked up to my battery, now this would be another wire to the battery, and when I put in an auxilary fuse box will be another wire to the battery and if I do the Kuryakin R/T/B module will be another wire to the battery. Isn't there a limit to how many wires you can run to the battery?
Wouldn't I instead of doing all that stuff, maybe put in a aux fusebox then run all the other stuff to the aux fusebox instead? How many wires you guys have running to your battery?

I have 3.
1. to the air horn 2. to the always hot side of the aux fuse block 3. to the relay for the switched side of the aux fuse block The hoppy is powered thru the aux fuse block, but grounded to the battery. It was just easier to ground it there.

I have about three other wires connected to the pos battery terminal as well. If you add too many connection the bolt on the terminal will become too short.
