Front end work
I recently joined KawaNow and have been reading posts on front end issues. You guys are super!! After reading posts on front fork issues and steering stem bearing lube (or lack thereof), all my suspicions were confirmed. Today I changed the fork oil, lubed and re-adjusted the stem bearings and had a new front shoe installed. The bike only has 8K on the clock but this was a perfect time to replace the oil. The steering problems described by others are exactly the symptoms I was experiencing when turning at low speed, the front end wanted to "dive" and cornering was unsatisfactory due to the looseness of the bearings. As for the tire, it came with the bike at purchase, so why not? It's pretty foggy and cold today but a short ride hinted at a significant improvement. I did the same maintenance on my long gone '98 Classic 1500 with the same results. I'm looking forward to a sunnier, less cool and foggy day to hit the hiway for a real test. Don't think I'll be disappointed!!

I'm looking at the same. I plan to lube and adjust head bearings, while I'm there I'll change fork oil. Tomorrow may be the day, its supposed to warm up a little.

Thats one of my main reasons for spending time here as well, there is a lot of help available just for the asking. We have guys here that have a lot of knowledge, whether its mechanical or electrical, that know a lot more than a lot of dealers. Glad you found this place usefull, enjoy the new improved Nomad.

Sounds like that was what the doctor ordered. Glad everything worked out for you. Hope that longer ride will prove your point.
