Improved Rear Lighting

I undertook a big install on Friday and swapped out the 1137 bulb in the tail light for a 2237LL which is supposed to be 25% brighter. I pulled it off without a hitch :)

Hey beez, is that a LED or an incandesent, bulb? If its a standard type and it's 25% brighter, it'll burn out 25% faster. The best improvment on rear lighting (IMO) is a "Run-Turn-Brake" controller.

That bulb should actually last longer than the 1100 series bulbs. They are made to a higher tolerance. We used to install them on the trucks at work, because of the high failure rates of the standard bulbs. I never really noticed if they were much brighter, but I never looked that close either.

Beezer, I hope you took several breaks and had plenty of refreshment on hand. A major job like that should not be tackled all by yourself. Let us know if it was worth the effort. I was thinking of doing the same thing to mine.

Yep, and you should post step-by-step photos so we can all see what you did and suggest better ways to do it next time. ;)

yeah, dont mix the bulbs, it would be a shame to do all that work and put the same bulb back in.

Looks good, but I think you need the rear fender bumper to finish the look with those lower bag rails/guards.

The bulbs come in Left and Right hand pairs, not interchangable.
