oil type
I want to use synthetic oil when i do my first oil change. what oil is being used? also what weight gear oil?

Short answer: Whatever seems to work best for you. I'm on my second brand of synthetic: Mobile1 10w-40. I'm not picky on the brand of final-drive oil. From the service manual:
Grade API Service Classification: GL-5 Hypoid gear oil Viscosity SAE90 (above 5°C), SAE80 (below 5°C) Capacity 200 mL (6.76 US oz)

Rotella Synthetic 5w-40 diesel oil. Cheaper than mobile 1 at Wally-World. Also Wal-Mart 7317 oil filter......-Rich

mobil-1 5W-40 turbo diesel oil, Pure One filter and mobil-1 75W-90 gear oil.
