Tips On Used VN 2000

I have had a 1600 Nomad in the past and now have an urge to acquire a VN 2000 . Any Tips on what to look for or what to watch out for on the next bike. Any certain years that were better than others or problems that were common with VN 2000's ?

I heard that they had top end problems with the pistons & rings, I cant remember the specifics. Check on the Delphi Vulcan forum, or VROC, I think thats where I read about it.
