Premature ( national Rally)

Just wanted to start a thread here to discuss the National Rally now that the location and approximate dates are locked in.

I know North Carolina is a stretch for many of us so we need to plan way in advance. I am starting now. Good points are who is going and a good place to meet up to travel together.
For most of us it will be a two day trip down and two back. I don't know anybody that would want to do 21 hours in one shot.

I know there are alot of you Illinois folks so perhaps somewhere over there. I have talked to Waterman and the Colorado/western crew will be coming across Kansas most likely, perhaps meet them along the way and have a big 'ol group down.

I can appreciate your excitement and have planned on attending as a guest. However for me... that is a long, long way off yet OP.

I would likely be trailering my bike down there also. At least until I get most of the way there. After seeing most of the guys dragging @ss at the last "national" after having ridden for days on end to get there... I am more inclined to do so.

For me... trailering the bike there was great because I got there in far less time; and was there a full 1 1/2 days before everyone else -- which gave me more time to ride around in the Black Hills. I was also able to stay a day longer -- although I decided to go ahead and leave rather than stay so I could take my time going home.

Anyway... as you know OP, there will be more and more bantering about the 2011 national as it gets closer -- and I am more than sure there will be plenty that we can meet-up with to make the final leg of the trip. It may even be good if I follow the group with my trailer just "in case" it is needed for an emergency -- whereby I could pull mine out and ride it while trailering someone else's to where it needs to go.

That is great news. I am so excited to hear that you are planning on coming. I was really lookinig forward to seeing you and Kendra again at the regional and was very disappointed that I cannot attend although it is for a good reason (baby on the way, due end of May).
Following with a trailer is a good idea and very neighborly of you. My biggest decision will be which way to go and which group to meet up with. Waterman and the western boys will be a straight shot south for me but to go over east and meet up with you guys will be less interstate and more scenic. i am leaning that way since I am missing the regional.

It's a long way off for me as well. I'd like to go, and may be I will, but I won't know for another 6-12 months to be 100% sure. We have to worry about our own mini-rally next year.

We'll be going too, but again... it's a long way off. Our North-Central Rally will be cool! Right now I've got enough "cool". Finally got dug out of the blizzard. Not fun. BnG
