Credit Card Fraud!

Capital One just called me and told me multiple charges were applied against my credit card Friday July 25th the day we left Orofino. Two were in Target stores in different states.

Be checking your statements!

This happening all the time. I cannot count the times my card has been compromised.

VISA does a good job with their fraud protection.

It is always a good idea to let a card company know when you are traveling. It helps them watch your card more closely for a while. They have told me so, and recommended letting them know.

That makes the most sense. Rally attendees, check your statements. Perhaps someone should contact the hotel as well.

I would suspect that also. A call to the Hotel so they can be sure that they do not have a digital thief passing numbers on to others.

The hotel or any other place where all of you used your card.

A store, gas stations, etc...

Down here in Florida, we had a number of convenience store/gas stations that were hit with fraud. They had placed readers on the pumps and would get the numbers later in the day. A riding friend got his information stolen but luckily his credit card company's fraud alert worked. They tried to buy some truck tires and such on it.

Who knows for sure but I would suspect the local gas station in Orifino before the hotel.

I checked my (Chase) credit card.....no issues

Did Brad and the other victims compare notes?

I called Best Western and reported it. The lady I talked to told me that happened last year and the state police got involved. Watch your statements.

I would think it was more likely one of the restaurants or the gas station in Orofino. I will check my credit card usage history carefully as well. Thanks for the heads up on this.
