I really like it. The Darkside that is.

The Vanco-8 185/75/16 eight ply light truck tire is awesome!! For one thing it has corrected my speedo error because it is taller than any MC tire that will fit the rim.

Others here have advised varying the tire pressure from low to high psi to find a sweet spot. I just set the pressure at 42 lubs and went for it. Just took for the Nomad for a spin with the Blue Kights for several hundred miles. We went through mountains to Jackson Hole, Wy and back. Awesome twisties paved with smooth asphalt and I was leading the ride.

There was one long 40 mph curve that the Nomad squirted around at 60 without so much as a bobble. No problem holding a line in a corner and no wobbles. With the taller tire now instead of scraping the floorboards I am scraping the Kuryakyn highway pegs on the engine guards. Kind of surprised me when it happened. Not sure if that means that I am leaning the bike over farther than usuall or if the geometry is just changed enough that now the other pegs hit. Don't really care. The bike handles great.

The bike seems much smoother on the interstate because it is not cranking as many rpms for the same speed.

The best part is that according to my cyphering if this rubber lasts for 40,000 miles I will save over $1,150 at today's prices by not buying MC tires.

For my money, this is one of the best things I have ever done with the Nomad.

The Darkside Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys are making me antsy. I ordered mine from Tread Depot. They are temporarily out of the 195/60's but expect some in the next 2 or 3 weeks. Their price is $109 plus shipping. About $18 cheaper than tire rack and $24 cheaper than tires-easy. I have a cut in one of the tread grooves on my Cobra but it doesn't appear to be very deep. The trip to Custer pulling the trailer wore the center of the tire down pretty good but it's still got a couple of thousand miles left on it.

Hey Scott, the only reason why I did not go sooner was lingering doubt from the nay-sayers. I finally decided that for 100 bux it would be worth a try and stopped listening to those voices.

Never fear. Embrace the Darkside.

Bud, what naysayer on this site has the qualifications as a long-term motorcyclist and gear-head mechanic were you listening to?

Look at the members who have CT then ask yourself are these guys qualified?

It was mentioned here that not a single person who's tried it or undertands the principle of why a CT should work have gone back! The naysayers have never tried it.

I remember when it was sternly recommended that Premium has more power than regular and thats why our Nomads need Premium! There were lots who agreed with that. I let those statements fall to the wayside now..........

Motorcycle tire sidewalls are "thicker" than Car tires???? Are you kiddin' me? You've seen both now. You tell me?? Pretty easy to mount that "thin" truck tire was it???

Send me $20 for doubting us and alls square ok?

Way da go Idaho. I like all the enhanced handling that you mentioned but the "ice cream" on that "pie" to me is when the nay-sayers wrinkle their snoots like they smell something bad, when you don't listen to them and go Darkside anyway. :)

Well if you say so.... The moon will turn green, the sun will black out, and all you guys with a CT on the back are going to fall off the square edge of Earth!

Not too many nay-sayers here. Local "experts" that I ride with. One guy outright asked me where I want to be buried!! Obviously, I finally stopped listening to those guys.

I think most of them are democrats anyway. That should have told me something. HA.
