Final drive oil seal part#?

I have a small leak coming from where the drive line cover is bolted with the 4 acorn bolts to the rear drive. Does anybody have the part # for this seal? I tried looking on Bike Bandit, but, I can't make heads or tails of it.

Thanks in advance for your time....-Rich

P.S. I tried to do a search for oil seals on Kawanow, but the search engine deletes the word "oil" because it is only 3 letters long.

PPS The bike is a 2003 1500FI L model

Final drive oil seal part#?

There are three o-rings and one seal located between the drive shaft and the final gear assy.

92055-1646 o-ring qty. 2
92055-1165 o-ring qty. 1
92049-1033 seal qty. 1

I got these off the Kawasaki web site under Accessories, Parts Diagrams.

BOB, My confusion is from the fact that part #92049A is listed & there's a 92049 part on the parts list below the diagram, each has a seperate OEM part # & both are different prices......-Rich

Rich,

I think this is the part you want:

92049A SEAL, OIL, SC32487 1 $6.56

I found it here: Cheap Cycle Parts

The exploded view shows 3 oil seals: 92049, 92049A, 92049B. 92049 and 92049B are both in the rear drive housing. 92049A is the only one located on the driveshaft, near the housing with the 4 acorn nuts.

Final drive oil seal part#?

Redeye,

I see your confusion as well.

I am not a motorhead so I am sure Bob and CJ are better sources but in looking at my Clymer manual and comparing it to the MaKaw site I think the part numbers are as Bob stated BUT if you are just looking for the one larger seal behind the 4 acorn nuts+flange/cover the part number looks like 92055-1165.

Good Luck

Thank You Scottie, The Cheap cycle parts web site shows a much clearer diagram on my computer. It looks like I will need to order the rear housing gasket too. Thanks -Rich

Final drive oil seal part#?

I replace my seal in the spring and used a National Seal from the local bearing supplier. The seal is a 40 x 52 x 7 mm p/n 703019 200608 It cost me $8.00, when installing the new seal make sure you notice where the old seal was placed. It is possible to drive the new seal in to far and it will also leak. I found out the hard way.
