Sorry to hear that. I know how painful they can be
My wife had them few years ago and still has problems. Guess they are with you forever.

Hey, unwind....do you know Billy Dyer (Paris) and if so, if he's still alive?

An Early Christmas Present for Me!

I was truly surprised at how painful they are....thanks for the thoughts....at least I got a work excuse for a few days and it's sleeting out so I don't have to try to get out on the messy roads.
Been watching people go by the house this morning sliding on the hill just past my house.

Billy Dyer? Don't know him....sorry.

I only knew shingles as something you roof a house with. I'll have to Google this new kind and see what to worry about catching now.

Bob - Todd - ya'll are so baaaaaad! Actually Ken has never had the chicken pox so he is keeping his distance.

Dan - if you've ever had chicken pox you are suspectible to getting shingles. If you've never had chicken pox you can cathch chicken pox from me when I have a shingles break out. When you google look at some of the lovely pictures of folks with shingles.......they can be quite painful.

I don't think just because you get shingles that you have them forever. My wife had them for a short period because of stress. She has eliminated that and they're gone. So there is help for you Nancy. Watch the eyes, I hear they CAN cause blindness. Get rid of the stress and get well.

An Early Christmas Present for Me!

Rick & Dan

Yep ....stress is the trigger :(. Hopefully I will be able to de-stress if this new job comes thru. Got a call from a friend today who I put down as a personal reference and they told her they are 'hoping to make an offer next week'.

The neurological pain can last weeks after the rash is gone. Whoopee!!!! I don't know how long the rash last (I'll let you know). Fortunately I have only a few places as I got to the doc and got on meds within the 1st 48 hours.

It is also true it can cause blindness which in some cases is just temporary. I did notice this evening one small spot by my right eye. I'll keep an EYE on it (pun intended).

They say there is a type of immunization injection they can give to folks over age 60 for shingles....weird but apparently it does not help if under age 60. I do have a few years before I qualify for that. ;)

It's a good thing we did Christmas early with my son, daughter n law and grandchild because I sure can't be around my grandson right now. :(

An Early Christmas Present for Me!

Hey Nancy, Oh my Shingles! Please know that we are all keeping you in our prayers for a fast recovery. I know about the stress, my job as a supervisor is almost putting me down. But the bright side, I only have 6 months until I can say, "I'm Done".

Best wishes on the offer of a new job, Best wishes for the holidays, Best wishes on a very speedy recovery. Just think de-stressing thoughts.....riding to Custer in June..riding to Custer in June......
