Hurricane Dolly

Okay I have busted my butt for the last 2 days to get ready to weather thru this hurricane. They have posted Tornado warnings already and the darned thing won't even make landfall until 7am. I live about 70 miles inland from Brownsville so hopefully the winds will die down before it gets here. They are calling for over 10 inches of rain. No Riding for me for a while.

The first thing I took care of was my Nomad. My neighbor has let me put it in her garage for the duration of the storm. wheeeew - one less thing to worry about. I can handle losing just about any other material thing BUT NOT MY NOMAD

Wish us luck

We just have heat to deal with, not many natural disasters here in the Sonoran Desert. Stay safe and dry.

Good luck with Dolly, hollywood. Board up those windows and stay safe. We're going to get some rain from Dolly up here on Thursday...at least that's what the forecast is saying.

Hurricane update - well she turned into a Cat 2 just before landfall on South Padre Island (70 miles from me).. So far it hasn't been very bad at all. The news station is going 24 hours with the coverage. Cameron County (coastal county) is getting a lot of damage. We are expected to get it a little later.
All are safe here so far!!

As an ex-Houstonian good luck. I remember the days of boarding and hoarding water/can goods/propane, etc.

Although I have to admit I much prefer know it's coming a week in advance vs having a tornando pop up with 5 minutes notice or less and they are way less predictable.

Hang in there.

Hang in there and good luck. To bad you can't send some of that rain up to North Texas, we sure could use some. That's the problem with Texas, feast or famine.
