Tank Bra and Bib

Ok, here's the lowdown.

I'm noticing some scuffing near the seat on my Nomad from my leather chaps and pants.

I'm looking for a tank bra to cover the back of the tank that also goes all the way up under the speedo that has pockets for stuff (cell phone, wallet, keys etc.) that over the long haul won't wear the finish off the paint like some bibs do.

Anyone got pics and/or a line on were I can hook up something like this??

Is this what you're looking for? I just saw this yesterday on the kawanow.org website. Take a look at http://www.kawanow.org/accessories.htm and scroll down to TANK CHAP. There's a link to classicchaps.com.

Sort of but I've seen a one-piece that covered the back and then narrowed and went all the way up to the front like a bib...

I have one of the tanks bibs you see in another post, it is made by classic chaps out of PA. I picked it up on this site for the very reasons you mentioned. I was not looking for a pocket and I did not want to scuff the tank. It works great, its an easy fit on and off and I can still clean and polish the tank.

Brad,
You might not want one exactly like mine,.....

but if the general idea of a one piece "tank bib and bra" with maybe a small pocket for "papers" I'd go to where I got mine made.
Franks Leather Products http://www.franksleatherproducts.com...ewProducts.htm

He has tank protectors like this too http://www.franksleatherproducts.com...wTankGuard.htm
Basically I designed my own and sent a template taped together for Frank. He tweaked things like the arc/curve here and there and put it together for me. If there isn't something you like on his site, do your own design and ask him if he'll make it. It didn't/hasn't damaged the paint surface yet, and the quality is definitely there. Sorry I don't remember what he charged me.
Frank uses the same hook and loop {Velcro} that is used on NASA space suits. {so he tells me} but be sure it is the best "Velcro" I've ever seen or used. When it's fastened, it's fastened and takes a lot of effort to tear apart, believe me!

Brad,

I have the Classic Chap version as the pic Simdog posted.

It is not thick leather like Ricky's and the "pocket" is only good for small papers (index card size) and some ear plugs. Don't plan on putting a cell phone, or a wallet in it....too small.

If I had to do it over I would still buy it as it did what I wanted....covered up some scratches.

I have the same one from Classic Chap. It is good for covering/preventing scratches. I have my garage door remote in mine and just push button though the pouch. it works. My only thought is that I wished it was a little bigger.

Ricky's is more like I'm looking for except wider above the bra so a pocket could be added to hold at least a small cell phone..

That's what I thought Brad. You want to look at Frank's Brad. He'll put together whatever you need. Bigger/deeper pocket.... I'm sure he could make it for you if he doesn't already have it.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I have some scratching from my knee rubbing the side of the tank when I shift. I currently have a tank bra with a pouch, but thought if I could combine it with the tank chap it would be perfect. What Kris has is fantastic. I have a feeling Frank may be getting a few sales. Kris you should get a commission!

I think is was about $150.00 when I bought it a couple years ago. Save the pic and email it to Frank as it is a custom job for your Nomad. He works quick and will do anything you like.

For about $300 more Brad could repaint the tank and buy some Slimfast. No more scratches then!!
