Question Rough idle.

07 1600 Mean Streak, runs a little rough at idle, with increased rpm it misses and smell of fuel is noticed. While it was at idle I unplugged a spark plug and the rpm did not change each time I unplugged the front cylinder but the rpm decreased when I did the same on back cylinder. The plugs look good but have less than 300 miles on them last time I checked. Im thinking bad coil or plug wires or loose connection somewhere. I have to remove the tank to get a better look. Bike runs good at times and then very rough at others. Thoughts?

LIke you said, or a coil. Try swapping the leads over while its running.
