Boy 9,000 miles on a 10 year old bike. Now that's low mileage.
your friend didn't ride much did he. Good luck selling it, I don't think you will have any trouble selling it.

I think the price is a little high or at least it would be in my area.I purchased my 2005 with 5700 miles for less.It was stock but I'm afraid most people see very little value in the after market accessories. They just see a bike and looking to get it at the lowest price.I think he would be better off taking the bike back to stock as close as feasibly possible and adjusting the price to somewhere around the Bluebook value. The riding gear is a nice plus if they happen to fit the buyer. After the bike sells he could offer the accessories to the new owner at a resonable price or I'm sure many of the forum members would be interested.

I forgot to mention that I have worked at four different motorcycle dealerships and have a some knowledge about buying and selling bikes.

I think the price in any location might be a tad high. I wouldn't give it but who knows. It may sell at that price.

The price is whatever someone will pay. A '99 with high mileage bad paint sold for $4500.00 here this spring. The '01 is worth $4000.00 retail, in ecellent shape. But there will be a shortage of bikes this year, [IMO] so asking $6000.00 makes sense to me.

I paid $5700 for a bone stock 01 last September with 6200 miles on it in like showroom condition. Most in our market feel I got a steal. Our bike prices are generally a fair bit higher than yours.

I'm curious what the vague reference to "after market chip" means? Some top secret ECU modification? I think it probably means a fuel processor, but that's a misleading reference.
Also, why mention the registration was recently paid? Does that transfer over in CA or something? Otherwise it's like stating "tires fully inflated". Does your friend expect extra because the reg is current?
