The wife just bought me a set of V&H baggers for the Nomad. Now just need to figure out how to get them on! :-)

Be sure to check the muffler to pipe fit before disassemble everything. I had some trouble with the left muffler.

Oh I must have but I am ill. But then I have been ill a long time, but Im' sick now.

Ok so I will help. Get all the stock exhaust off and put the V&H back on where the old exhaust was.. See how easy that was?

Ok so now what you need to know is have OEM or Harly gaskets on hand, and 4 extra flat washers if you should happen to need them under the 4 acorn nuts.. And no I am not saying you have any squirrels in the engine!

Fit the pipes to the mufflers before you dabble in the chrome shields. You should not cut off any pipe IMO... You should grind the burrs from the inside of the muffler inlets and fit the pipes sort of loose. The last time you do this on the bike smear some anti seize in these joints..

I don't like the P clamps and bolts because they are ugly.

When you install for keeps DO NOT Tighten the head pipes first! In fact these get tightened last!

Once the head pipes are on just enough that they don't flop around install the mufflers and get the bolts that suspend these installed loose.

Now the whole sustem is on the bike but it is ALL loose.

Wack the mufflers and the head pipes with your fist a few times to settle things, and to teach that system who is the Boss.

Then tighten the mufflers first, and wack the head pipes again fer good measure, then the clamps is you must have any, and last the head pipes.

Doing this will reduce stress to the head pipes.

Then wipe off every finger print unless you like etched in chrome finger prints... before you add heat.

To add heat mean you just went for a ride..

If I made any errors it is because I am ill, and besides that I'm sick :'(

ps I will give you some negitive karma ::)

I seem to have more energy today, so I went right out in the rain and washed out 8 new sap buckets. These were a royal mess of mucked on joint compound. Most everyone seems to have a problem washing these type of buckets out, but not me.

I have a fishing bob house sled which is big enough for me to take a bath. And so after i did.;D

Now i gotta figure out how to get the Nomad to boil off 39 gallons of sap... There has gotta be some way ...... right?

It's a northern thang. A sap bucket is a bucket used to catch sap from maple trees. From that you can make maple syrup and maple sugar. God's nectar!!!!!!!

Ayha' that is true and I am at it

Then I don't spell well, have poor grammar and am the typo King, not to mention half the time I talk backwards.

So I always know exactly what I mean, and about 1/2 the time I don't know what anyone else means.. I'ld have to say it ends up about equal.

I admitt i live a strange life, and so I have problems taking a topic and not having other things enter the topic. I live in 3 century's at the same time, so it is no wonder I am confusing to anyone who lives in just one.
