Happens quite frequently if you ride your bike and use low beam most of the time, you'll burn them out. Some of the whiter light bulbs will wear out quicker. Just go to your local auto parts store and get you a replacement and one to keep in your saddle bag as a spare.

I was just wondering. I never had to replace the bulb in my 01 1500 classic (over 51,000 miles) but twice in the 1600 nomad (over 35,000 miles). The first time I got the bulb from Autozone while traveling thru Penn.

I haven't blown mine yet... 06 1600 with apx 14,000 miles.. I run on hi beam in day time of course... Don't really ride much after dark, but at times I have.
Were you in the habit of riding in day light on low beam? If so it isn't getting seen as well as on hi beam, and for that matter you may as well switch the head lamp off. I see other riders on low beam and they may as well have the lamps off. But you do as you please.

I always ride with low beams. I know what you mean about some bikes low beams. Here in VA, your driving lights can only be on while on low beam.

Thats plain wrong.... Some fat burro cat needs a lesson...
My 55 watts each passing lamps are on most all the time with hi beam, but are wired to be on any time engine key or no... I am adding 2 more amber lamps at 35 watts each and all 5 will be on most of the time with Hi Beam so long as the charging system can take it. I think it can. I can't really say break the law, but I sure would. I never spent time checking NH law to find out of it is legal or not here, but when I ride and that includes crossing the USA both ways in day time I run hi beam with passing lamps, and was never stopped once for anything either way.

You can't really break the law. It still has to pass inspection.

I always drive in the daytime with my high beams on. Cars can't see sh*t if just my low beam in on. It might as well be off!

I have a Sylvania white beam on mine, don't recall the type for sure. It's life span is not the best but does do a ton better at night and is much more visible in the day time on high beam. It is my second bulb in a little over a year, burnt out the high beam on one.

My way is so lights can be on because I go camping and set up after dark, somethimes when others could be sleeping.
I can have the lamps on at any time it pleases me.. I think this is legal in NH.. On the other hand in day time a lo beam might as well not be on. And then at night in boonies only a fool would limit his light, unless a on coming car is at hand. My set up at night leaves the passing lamps on, and I switch hi and lo beams out of courtisy same as i would in a cage. So I guess if I knew i was in a stater with suck a law, I would ride on lo beams at night and only lo beams at night. Now lets say hi beam or low beam blows out in the lamp, then passing lamps will save your life, and or a relay goes by the board, and or you just hate the no light between the switching.. I don't know but I will have lights at night if it just saves me.... My opinion is a fool wrote this law, and the law itself is wrong, and needs to be changed, but no legal beavers in Va are going to listen to a NH resident..

I run my light on hi beam all the time, day and night. I never get get winked at to turn it down, so it probably isn't bright enough to bother anyone.

My low beam blew early so I replaced it with a Sylvania and no problems so far,15,000 miles on new bulb.
I run low beam in the daytime with my lightbar spots on. I have them wired to be on high or low beam. Don't know if that is legal here in NY but don't really care. it always passed inspection.

I have over 42000 km on my 06 and run with the low beam on, 98% of the time and it has not blown. Still the original bulb.....
