Cold ride today, first ride with Grasshopper
Was supposed to hit low 40's today but think closer to high 30's, but I took about 100 mile ride anyway... since was off work and was nice and sunny.
The Grasshopper backrest seemed to be fine, but initial feeling when first got on bike was that it pushed me more forward, which I didn't like at first anyway. I will admit that I have a very poor posture and tend to slouch. I found I mostly enjoyed the backrest while using the highway bars. Came across this rundown building and thought neat place for a photo. Unfortunately had to face into into sun, so not real clear... but I think my bike looks "angelic" LOL

Nice looking bike. Couldn't tell a lot about the building. I think you might have been more focused on the bike.

this is true LOL. I seem infatuated with old / dilapidated buildings... this one looked to be an old service garage.
Here is another deserted garage where I took a picture of my Mustang. The business moved to a new building across town, and this is left behind.

Angelic it looks, yes. (typed in my best Yoda accent).
So do you think the Grasshopper will stay?

Bike pics in front of interesting buildings are neat.

The Vaquero seat looks to be one piece. If so, you had to cut a slot in it to put the backrest on, correct

No...the seat came pre-slit stock

Oh. The reason I asked is my wife's 900LT has a one piece seat and I put a Grasshopper rest on it. Had to slit the seat at the seam and rig up the holder on the bottom of the seat instead of the fender where it was supposed to go.
Does the rest for your Vaquero mount on the fender or the underside of the seat

The Vaquero is growing on me, but I would need a Voyager for the two-up riding we do. I hear the trunk on those are pretty weak though, that is why Kawi won't put a stock luggage rack on it. I have read where many who have added the Yamaha luggage rack experience cracking. HD trunks can pack a load, I routinely pack about 20 lbs. in a bag on top of my trunk...no problem!

I am loving it so far (only 1200 miles on it) Kris. My wife won't ride so it is perfect for me, but wouldn't consider if was going to be two up for anything more than around town. I just love the "sportier" look of the Vaq, and figure a good bag sitting on the rear seat will serve me for what I would need traveling

After owning a Voyager for a while the Nomad bag memories will fade.

Do you have any close pics, Bob? I'm considering the Grasshopper for my ride but it's always looked a bit "off" in the pics I've seen. Never seen any good, upclose pics. I think if I were to "upgrade", I'd consider a Vaquero.
