Thanks everyone . Grandpa is very proud of Austin :) The plus of him becoming a Medic is it also applies to the civilian world when he does get out :) A tough field to deal with .

My own Son served as a USN Corpsman with a FMF Marine Battalion, until a couple of years ago. Service Medics/Corpsman all train together now at a new facility in TX. Those who gain credentials MUST make certain to cross t's and dot the I's to be certain that their training is accepted in the Civilian sector after service. Not all of the States accept Military training certifications in the civilian Paramedic/EMT/Emergency Room etc and other related careers. Your Grandson's in service counselors can help him to complete the correct roles and educations beyond basic and advanced schools required of his own service that could later serve him in civilian life. Sadly, the Combat Medic field is one of the most decorated rates/MOS throughout the services and more ships have been named for Corpsman than for Presidents through modern history. Best wishes for his Success and Safety. And thanks for his Service. Very likely that once he has earned the caduceus on his uniform that he will never have to buy his own beer in a bar frequented by service members or veterans.
