Just a fuel manager and maybe BAK...

...and no pipes.

Who has added just a fuel manager (PCV or other)?

Who has added a fuel manger and a BAK?

How were your results with no pipes?

Thanks everyone. This a great forum with lots of info.

I don't think anyone has added just a fuel manager as there is no real requirement unless the Air system is changed out. I have only added fuel management, the cobra auto tuner, when I changed out the air box and the exhaust, I did not do it just for the change in exhaust system.

I know a few people have added a fuel manager with nothing else. It smoothes out the power delivery.

But in my opinion adding the Processor with out the other two Mods is like sex with a condom on. Still pretty good but not the same.

Certainly. I just want my bike performing at its peak. I don't ride like a maniac but like to know I have the power when I need it. Like my car. I have a Dodge Charger with a Hemi. I have a performance tune in it, Flowmaster exhaust and a K&N Cold Air Intake. Can I go 160 MPH, yes. But I keep it at 80 mph or less, but I like to know I have the power there when I need it. So for me its worth the money and I still get to go on trips.

using less gas.

I think my bike performs just fine stock....which is odd for me to say. Let me know when they make pipes that are as quiet as stock and still perform...I would buy them in a heart beat. But until then...the volume of my stereo is more important than the volume of my bike.

I have Ford Explorer Sport Trac Adrenalin with no tune, no K&N and no exhaust. It is V8 AWD drive with plenty of power on tap....even when pulling a trailer.

If it runs just fine-why a fuel processor? I'm with you on the quiet pipes. In fact, I spent the first 10-12 thousand miles resisting modifications. But fact is, your bike will not be pleasant to be around when the weather reaches 85 degrees and above. Very hot ride! Minimally, you need to do a two plate stock debaffle and and add the fuel processor. Debaffled stock exhaust is NOT loud. Actually quiet a pleasant improvement. As much as I dragged my feet, I'm glad I have the big 3 now. Get some ear plugs and enjoy the ride.

How loud is it? Do you get pulled over for "disturbing the peace"?

Oh come on, you know you were thinking it!

To me the V&H slip ons is the tamest exhaust I have ever owned. I can hear my radio fine at 80 + mph and the volume is not up all the way. My radio is stock, no amp. At cruise they are very mellow and I ride with a half helmet. Only time the pipes turn up the volume is when you crank the throttle hard, which is not really my riding style.

No one really answered the part about a fuel manager and a BAK but stock pipes. Is there any benefit at all to this? I like my stock pipes, but would add an air kit and fuel manager if there was any benefit.

I have all stock 08 1600 except a BAK and my fuel mileage isint the greatest maybe 190km per tank but the pipes will be coming next summer along with a fuel processor which I really hope will help.

Go back about 5 posts. I explained that it will smoothe out the power delivery. You may also gain an mpg or 2

I think a fuel processor is pointless if you are satisfied with performance and can deal with the rider felt heat.

I too thought I was satisfied with the bike except for the engine heat. I started with Cobra slip-ons and a fuel processor. I could not stand the Cobra noise and went back to stock exhaust with a two plate debaffle.

It ran much stronger and fuel mileage improved to the 40's if I don't run much over 70 mph. I did put on a Chuckster's BAK. It was more to get some free air around the cylinders than the intake restriction.

I am running the debaffled stock exhaust, Cobra Fi2000 box set at 3-5-0, and the Chuckster's BAK. It pulls much harder than an all stock bike now. 70mph local rides return 40+ mpg. Freeway speeds at 80 mph bucking a wind will knock it down as much as 10 miles per gallon sometimes.

If you look around the forum, you will find even the veterans on here spent 1000's of miles perfecting their scoots. Most end up with a version of the big three.

Thanks guys. I'm not looking for performance perfection, just some improvements. I may try the debaffle if it doesn't increase the db, along with an air kit and fm.
