2001 1500FI Nomad rear tire

Okay- this topic has been discussed to hell and back , but after using the "search" I am more confused than normal. Yesterday i attended a PGR homecoming mission and thought the bike was a little different on the way home. Rear tire fine when we left and before leaving today for a ride a chunk was out of it and tread separating from sidewalls. It was a Michelin Commander and if it had "lived" through this summer would have had about 15 thousand on it mostly 2-up. I am going to DARKSIDE!!! Stock tire is 150/80/16. I can't seem to find a GYTT with the correct size. Also would consider Dunlop Sp 5000. Please advise on an actual tire size in these 2 brands with the model name - such as GYTT Assurance 195/65/16 etc. THANKS MUCH, I need as soon as possible so I can ride

The smallest GYTT is a 205/60-16. If you want the one direction tread pattern like the GYTT, I would suggest looking at tire sizes 195/55-16, there are quiet a few to choose from. Like the General G-MAX AS-03 or Altimax HP, the HankookVentus V4 ES H105, or the Yokohama AVID ENVigo tires. These are all one direction tires, and have nice round shoulders. If and when my GYTT ever wears out, I might go with one of those. I really like that General G-MAX.
