Hello from Florida
I came home yesterday evening with a 2009 Candy Diamond Red / Pearl Luster Beige Nomad with about 4300 miles on it. This is just my second bike. My previous bike was a Suzuki Boulevard C50 on which I put a little over 52,000 miles in about 2.5 years. I use the bike for my daily transportation, regardless of weather. I am wanting to do more long distance riding including more Saddle Sore 1000's. I have done one so far (all in Florida). My goal for the SS1000s is to get a SS1000 pin for each state the IBA offers. This bike has had the heat shield retrofit done to it. In spite of that, I am surprised how much heat comes off the motor compared to the C50. Is it because it is a bigger motor? It was in the upper 80's when I test rode it and brought it home. I am wondering how oppressive that heat is going to be when our summer temperatures return? I am looking forward to participating in this board.

Welcome from Knoxville, TN.
Heat? Does the fan run? Do you have a fuel processor? |

Hello from Florida
The fan runs and there is no fuel processor. The bike is completely stock except for the luggage rack on back. There are many mods yet to come. ;)

Hello from Florida
These bikes run very lean from the factory.
lean = hot I found that after I added a fuel processor the fan didn't run as often. The Nomads engine is about twice the size of the C50 but I don't think it should run much hotter. However with that much more mass under you, you might feel more heat. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Hello from Florida
Welcome from Central Louisiana. I too made the jump from a Suzuki (M50) to the Nomad. I have really enjoyed the Nomad over the last 17 months.

Hello from Florida
peabo2k, when you moved from the M50 to the Nomad, did it seem like it gave off more heat than the M50?
