Final Drive Oil

Not sure on brand, have to look in garage. Bought the weight and style mom recommended. One bottle lasts awhile. Have changed twice in 13,000 miles, once at the 600 +- mark, then when the manual said to.
Change motor oil every 3000 or so. Using Castrol Syntech blend 10w40.

Final Drive Oil

I use Amzoil 75W-90 gear lube. Have 6000 miles on the bike and have changed it twice now. I will not change it again until around 15k.

AS LONG AS ITS 80-90W gear oil it doesnt matter what brand, your preference. I dont think we need to change it as often as we do, manaul I think says every 12,000 I might be wrong on that. not as often as engine oil for sure.

Thanks for the replies. I bought Motul. That's what one of my riding buddies says he uses in his Mean Streak. He also works at Ron Ayers.

While we're on this subject, how often do you change the final drive oil or transmission fluid in your car/truck?[/quote]

UUHHH, my truck has 125000 miles on it and the answer is never.
