Never Been more torn on Fuel Processors
I have been torn over getting the Power Commander V or the Cobra FI2000 Power Pro.
I really like the idea of the Cobra auto tuning itself 80 times a second. I don't plan on going outrageous with performance mods. I am looking to do the V&H slip ons, A K&N filter for now with stock air box until at some point I put an aftermarket air cleaner. With the PCV I have to worry about getting the mapping just right, and having to take it to a Dyno tuner which will set me back about another $325.00. And if I want to add something down the line, the Dyno tuning will be worthless. Any input on experiences with the PCV and the Cobra Power Pro will be appreciated. I am looking to pull the trigger right before Xmas. Thanks guys. Ken Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I had the Cobra Powrpro on my Voyager and was pleased with it.
You will notice the biggest gain in "driveability" after you change the intake. The Cobra by itself did not improve the bike by much. |

Thanks redjay. I am just concerned because there are so many good and bad reviews. I just want something that is going to keep the bike running optimum under all conditions. I doubt the bike will leave Florida, which is at sea level so concerns over atmospheric pressure and such dont concern me. With the PCV, each map has numerous variables, each of which can affect the way the bike performs. I am probably over thinking the whole thing and making myself crazy. I just dont want to make a 500.00 mistake.

I have a power pro for sale. I liked the power pro until I added the freedom performance exhaust. Had some decel pop. So I ended up with the PCV w autotune. Both are good, the PCV is a little more labor intensive but more versatile

EJK is a load based fuel controller manufactured by Dobeck Performance. I have their Gen 4 AFR+ on my Victory and you can tune in about 5 minutes for different conditions. I will buy nothing but Dobeck in the future.

I was behind one of these in traffic yesterday. Thought it wa a Ferrari from the side, but it's a Jaguar F-Type. He got on it pretty good, from a light, and when he let off the throttle, I heard it popping. Made me feel ok about my Voyager popping. I kept up with him, and he twisted it pretty hard too! fun times.

Here you go. You've probably seen this already? Don't know if this will help or drive you more crazy.....
http://www.electronicjetkit.com/EFI-controllers.asp I had the TFI gen 2 on my Nomad and was pretty happy with it. Easy to adjust. BTW, what is the difference between the EJK Gen 3 and 3.5?

I really am liking the EJK, seems simple enough. I am not heavily modifying the bike, just want the air / fuel right and get a smooth response through the entire power band. I ride in FL so mostly straight line cruising between 70 - 85 mph on the highway. No high altitudes or flogging my motor in my future. I just want the easiest thing I can set up myself without having to drop 325.00 at a dyno shop, which still does not guarantee a perfect tune. I do have Racin Ray close by but still don't want to shell out more money to tune after spending $850 on my upgrades (slip ons, K&N filer and Fuel Processor).
I also want the satisfaction of saying I did it myself, much like I did when I rejetted my carbed 1500 classic. I took it to the dyno for a pass and the operator told me I was spot on for the AFR and he could not have gotten it any better for a carbed bike. So I am still torn but the EJK seems to get good reviews and looks pretty simple to set up and tune. So what ever it is I said here today. I will let you all know my decision when the time comes. I think with the EJK version 3.5 you can subtract fuel from the adjustment to lean out a mix if necessary. Correct me if I am wrong anybody. |
