Sister update
Thank you for the thoughts and prayers everyone. My family and I greatly appreciate them.
My sister has a bad break in the second lumbar. It is such that it will leave her spine unstable without surgery to put in rods or plates to stablize the area. The doctor says she will pretty much go back to doing all the things she has always done. She also has cracked bones below that lumbar, but I'm not sure that he plans to do anything with that. She has lost one kidney due to the damage she sustained to it but the trauma doctor said yesterday that they will not remove it. Due to this, she is having trouble getting rid of the fluids that are being pumped into her and is very swollen. She complained this evening of her abdomen feel real tight. The nurse checked some things out and said she has called the doctor and is waiting on his call back. She said they may possibly run more tests or another CT scan to see what's going on there. Then again, they may not. She has a very long road ahead of her. Thanks again for your support, Amy

Its great news that she will go back to doing all the stuff she used to do, A lot of people are not that fortunate after that type of injury. Im sure it will be a long recovery but at least she has a good goal to work towards.

Kawgirl;
Sorry to hear of this situation for your sister. Kendra and I are sending our prayers; and are glad to hear there seems to be some progress. Please keep all of us informed as to her progress. Greg

Good trauma doctors are worth their weight in gold to find all kinds of hidden problems. Nurses usually pick up on little things that key the Dr in to unseen issues. I will also pray that the Dr's and Nurses are guided by the Spirit in your sisters care.
Thanks for the update.

Thank you so much everyone. Her surgery is scheduled for Wednesday at 8:30. I pray this will be the beginning of some of her pain being lifted. I know it won't be right away but it will be the start to get her up and going again.
I feel your love and support through these posts. You are great folks!
