1600 seat questions

I have a 1600 Nomad. I am looking for something more comfortable for a seat. I sat on a new Nomad and was surprised how the seat was so more enjoyable. I currently have a grasshopper backrest and would like to keep it. Is a after market seat worth buying that will work with the back rest? Or does a seat cover work and if so which one do you suggest and why.

1600 seat questions

Wow, Republican or Democrat? The seat question is a very personal choice and really will depend on what you are looking for. What was it about the seat on the new one that was better than yours? softer or firmer? There are a couple of places where you can send your seat that will rework it with better foam to firm it up or soften it and they can even lower it a bit if you like. I really like the shape of the stock seat but the foam is terrible. I am looking into a mustang seat but there are several seats available and most of them would allow you to keep your grasshopper backrest.

1600 seat questions

I plan on keeping my stock seat and probably getting a grasshopper backrest for it, the one thing I will be doing is carrying over my beaded seat cover from my old bike, Beadrider.com is where I got it and it was well worth the money, and for around $40 worth trying before ordering a mustang I would think

Have you thought about getting your seat redone at www.greatdaytoride.com?This place has gotten good reviews from motorcycle forums. It costs $50-$75 plus shipping each way, with 1-2 day turnaround on the work.I am seriously thinking of doing it.

I went and bought a mustang set for mine and still went and bought some sheepskin pads from Alaska Leather. They seem to help but this riding season will tell for sure.
